Som Sabadell Flashmob: Beethoven

A nice illustration of my recent post, Busking with Bach. A bank sponsored flashmob featuring Beethoven’s 9th. Maybe there is hope after all! Timely, indeed. Be sure to notice the reaction of the children!

  1. Who knew there were so many pint-sized conductors hidden in the crowd? Or so many children in aging bodies?

I am curious about the singing. Clearly, many people in the crowd who weren’t part of the formal group knew the words and were singing along. I’m familiar with “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” but I’m wondering if another song is traditionally sung to the tune in Spain.
